Creative Biogene Brings Three Kinds of Immunoglobulin among Immunoglobulin Superfamily

An antibody is a class of protein molecules called immunoglobulin (or Ig), and is a polypeptide molecule consisting of similar small domains.

Creative Biogene have sorted and summarized several typical immunoglobulin to share to everyone.

Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA4)

Cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4), also known as CD152, is a kind of leukocyte differentiation antigen. It is a transmembrane receptor on T cell, sharing B7 molecular ligands with CD28, whereas CTLA-4 binds to B7 molecules to induce T cells, participating in negative regulation of the immune response. The recombinant CTLA-4 Ig can effectively and specifically inhibit the cellular and humoral immune responses in vitro and in vivo, and has a significant therapeutic effect on transplant rejection and various autoimmune diseases with very low side effects. It is considered to be hope for new immunosuppressive drugs.

Programmed cell death 1 (PDCD1)

Program cell death-1 (PDCD-1) molecule is an important down-regulation type costimulatory factor, playing an immunosuppressive function through the role of its ligand, mainly involved in the central and peripheral immune resistance. It is very important in autoimmune diseases. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a prototype of autoimmune diseases, which makes the body loss normal immune tolerance balance, lymphocytes have abnormal activation and can not correctly identify their own tissues. In recent years, many studies have found that PDCD- 1 polymorphism is associated with the development of SLE.

lymphocyte-activation gene 3 (LAG3)

The body’s immune system regulates the immune response through a variety of mechanisms, effectively resisting pathogen invasion and maintaining the stability of the environment. Lymphocyte-activated gene-3 molecule (LAG-3) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, and closely related to CD4, selectively expressing in activated T lymphocytes, natural killer (NK) cells and dendritic cells (DC), in combination with its ligand MHC class II molecules. The function of immunoregulation and the maintenance of internal environment are related to various diseases such as tumor and tuberculosis. Its discovery provides a new target for immunotherapy of related diseases.
